Beautiful quality Sterling Silver Table Serving Spoon, made in 1816 by the important Silversmiths Benjamin Davis of London. Featuring a classic George III design fiddle pattern, with lovely ornate marriage monogramme initials of 'E C' on the tip of the handle. In very good antique condition, free of repairs, very slight surface marks commensurate with age and use. The handle is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III's head, a date letter R for the year 1816, the maker's mark for Benjamin Davis and leopard’s head crowned for silver hallmarked in London pre 1820.
